Thanks, Mike! It was an adventure for sure. Maybe next time I’m down in Las Vegas, we two old cruiser guys could take a ride. When our team was down for the AIMExpo, we took an editor group ride out to Lake Mead and Valley of Fire. Great ride. Thanks again!

Thanks for putting your ass on the line for our reading enjoyment. As a 50+ “Cruiser Guy” I am impressed with the required guts to take a class like this. The article was interesting, thought provoking and fun. I am sure it is well worth the money. (get what you pay for) I live in Las Vegas, and although I could afford the bill for such an adventure…. I think I will stick to reading about it on Rider.

A trackday has a different economy of scale because it’s open to many more riders, many of whom do not want instruction, so the cost can be much cheaper. ChampSchool rents out each track exclusively for its students, not just guys who want to turn laps on their own, and they have a low instructor-to-teacher ratio, hence the higher cost.

The two-day intensive D-Day camp offered by CLASS at Streets of Willow is $1,795-$1,895, not “less than $200/day.” You’re comparing apples and oranges.

I’ve done lots of track days, primarily CLASS, but some CA Superbike, Dennis Pegelow, and others. Also have rented tracks with my bike club and offered track days with instruction for less than $200/day. $2500 for two days?

Of course, the cost of crashing on the street will be more than $2500, but some of these schools are completely full of themselves. I grew up watching Kenny Roberts race the old Camel Pro before going to Europe. I’d love to spend the day with Fast Freddie, the man who dethroned him. But $2500? NFW.
